When Dunda was attacked by dogs from her own yard two years ago, it almost felt like the best thing that had ever happened to her – in what had been, to put it mildly, an unfortunate life.
First, she got her own kennel. Her own peace. A place where she could finally sleep without fear.
Second, she got attention. So much attention that she transformed – from a dog who ran from every touch into one who rolls onto her back, offering her belly to be stroked.
Third, she almost left. Her bag was practically packed. She was supposed to leave the shelter – forever.
But… one reason or another. This and that. And Dunda stayed.
Today, she lives on a large meadow, surrounded by many dogs. But she still has her kennel, which she shares with Dana. Only sometimes she take a part in dog play – too much has passed over her back, and she has learned that the safest thing is to step aside.
She lives quietly, in her own world, waiting for a human who won’t change their mind at the last moment.
Dunda was born in 2022 and is currently in our shelter in Sanski Most. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed – and there is no real reason why she shouldn’t finally go home this time. Not even the distance.
