Welcome to the Dog Shelter

Land of Dogs

The Land of Dogs is a unique sanctuary for around 130 abandoned dogs, designed to offer them the best possible quality of life and as much freedom as possible. It was established and is run by the founders of animal welfare association Srce za šapu.

About us

DOG SHELTER MISSION

Srce za šapu association was founded in 2015 as a spontaneous response to serious violations of the Animal Protection and Welfare Act and the alarming situation facing abandoned dogs in Sanski Most, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our mission is to save dogs from hunger, disease, fear and life on the streets, and to provide them with a place where they can live with dignity, in a way that respects their needs and nature. But our mission doesn’t end there. We want every dog to have the chance to find a home where they will be accepted, loved and treated as an equal member of the family.

Take me home!

DOG SHELTER INHABITANTS FOR ADOPTION

People who visit us often say how happy our dogs look. But the truth is that a shelter, no matter how good, can never replace a real home. Every one of them longs for a place to belong, for safety and peace, and for someone to shower with their love and loyalty every day. Meet them – perhaps your newest family member is waiting for you right here. And when you adopt a dog from our shelter, you don’t just change that dog’s life. You also make room for another dog, one who may be wandering the streets of our town right now, waiting for a chance to be rescued.
