Mario, a handsome and kind-hearted young boy in his prime, unfortunately spends his life confined to a shelter, withdrawn and always in the second row among his buddies. Many words could be used to describe the moment when Mario’s eyes meet mine, and we silently comprehend each other, sharing love, hope, and despair in a single fleeting second. Yet, my attempts to capture this profound connection only yield hollow phrases, repeated so often. Nevertheless, I earnestly hope that these humble words, accompanied by the brilliance of his expressive eyes, find their way into someone’s heart and ensure that Mario does not miss out on the wonderful years he could have with his own people.
Mario was born in April 2021, amidst the refuge of bushes adjacent to a bustling road. He entered this world without a home, destined to face the hardships of life on the streets. By nature, he is timid and uncertain, approaching unfamiliar individuals and new situations with great caution. It is understandable, given his background—he was rescued from a ditch on the roadside, subjected to rejection and cruelty during his tender infancy. Within the shelter, he maintains a harmonious relationship with his fellow canines and does not contribute to any disturbances. However, Mario still has much to learn, eagerly anticipating the arrival of compassionate individuals who possess the necessary love and patience to unlock the depths of his generous canine heart.
