Blacky has been living in the asylum since 2020, but the asylum is not his home. It never was and never will be. There are dogs who accept their fate, but he is not one of them. Blacky always climbed the front door of his yard, to see if the way to his real home opened. He doesn’t do that anymore, after one incident when he ended up in the yard with the neighbors’ dogs and barely made it out alive. Now he dreams of his home with his eyes closed.
And of course, we have a guilty conscience for Blackyi as well – that we didn’t spend more time with him, that there wasn’t another extra biscuit for him, that he was placed in that distant yard, that he turned gray prematurely from stress, loneliness, boredom and sadness.
By nature, he is cheerful, good-natured and cuddly, but due to his long life in an asylum he has become distrustful of unfamiliar people and situations – mostly, nothing that a little love can’t cure in a moment. If you want a perfect dog, adopt Blacky and you’ll get a lifelong starring role as a hero in Blacky’s life. And what a role it would be!
